Meet the Alta Vista Team

All of our Home Inspectors are certified by the Arizona Board of Technical Registration. They have passed the rigorous State requirements for education and practical experience to become Arizona State Certified Home Inspectors. Additionally, Alta Vista Inspectors undergo extensive in-house training and participate in continuing education to stay current with developing issues

Our inspectors are also required to have "hands-on" work experience in residential construction techniques. If they discover an unsatisfactory condition during your home inspection, they can suggest methods to resolve the situation. We take the time to explain the significant inspection findings during the on-site inspection summary.

We have inspected thousands of homes in Arizona, so we are familiar with construction methods that are unique to Arizona.

	Mr. Eric Coakley, Inspector - Arizona State Certified Home Inspector #41296. Graduate of ITA (Inspector Training Associates), a nationally recognized Home Inspector postsecondary educational institution. Eric has over 15 years experience as a licensed General Contractor in California and Arizona. He has over 25 years experience in the residential construction industry, including project design, management, quality control as well as hands-on construction experience. Eric's background and training provides him with a well-rounded perspective for the inspection industry, where he specializes in new home, residential one - year warranty and residential resale home inspections.

	Mr. Jerry Newport, Inspector - Arizona State Certified Home Inspector# 42694. Jerry completed his Home Inspection training at The Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. Jerry knows the value of education and experience; he also holds a California Contractors License, an Arizona Real Estate License and has a Bachelors degree from California State University Long Beach. He has over thirty years of experience in the residential construction industry and related fields. Jerry's background and training blended with his outgoing personality work together to make him a certified inspector who takes pride in his ability to help educate our clients.

	Mr. Ron Peters, Inspector - Certified ASHI Member #118222, Arizona State Certified Home Inspector #38160. Ron has extensive experience in equipment design, residential and commercial construction, remodeling, renovation, and building/equipment maintenance. He also has a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. In addition to performing inspections, Ron provides management and marketing services for Alta Vista.

	Mr. Michael Schuette, Inspector - ASHI Member #243354, Arizona State Certified Home inspector #42290. Michael completed the Home Inspection In-Training Certification Course at the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business and the Home Inspection Apprenticeship Program at the Sonoran Desert Institute, received his State Certification and then worked as an independent home inspector. In addition, he earned a Bachelors degree from Northern Arizona University. Michael has many years of experience as a residential construction contractor. Mike’s congenial personality, his extensive practical background and his attention to detail provide our clients with quality results!

	Ms. Theresa Schultz, Vice President - BS in Architectural Engineering, MS in Construction Management. Theresa has worked over 17 years in the construction industry, from working on-site as a Project Engineer up to a Senior Project Manager with one of the valley's highest profile commercial developers. This experience has given her extensive knowledge in construction and business management. With Theresa's experience and education, she provides management and marketing expertise for Alta Vista.

Legal Notice: One or more of the Alta Vista Home Inspectors has taken college level courses relevant to the Engineering Sciences and has obtained a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering Technology. In addition, one or more of the Alta Vista Home Inspectors have been assigned job titles by their previous employers such as Plant Engineer, Senior Plant Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Senior Environmental Engineer, Building Engineer, etc. This does not imply that any of the Alta Vista Home Inspectors is a licensed/certified engineer in the State of Arizona. The Alta Vista Home Inspectors will not be providing any type of engineering service in the course of your home inspection, since this type of service is outside the scope of a home inspection.
